Rocky Knob Bike Park – Boone
Off US Hwy 421, 2 miles east of the 194 intersection, just outside Boone limits
Rocky Knob is a 185 acre Boone NC Biking Park with almost 3 miles of Boone Biking Trails already open to the public. Two well-designed biking trails opened in 2011 that also allow Hiking Boone NC! Another 5+ miles of biking trails and a terrain park are currently under construction. Pet friendly on leashes.

Bass Lake – Blowing Rock
Mile Marker 296.4 of the Blue Ridge Parkway, turn towards Blowing Rock, drive 1 mile
A handicap or stroller accessible .8 mile loop around the lake. Located in the valley below Moses Cone Manor, the white pines and Maple trees are truly breathtaking in the Fall. Peace and serenity and even some wildlife. Great for birdwatching Blowing Rock.
Grandfather Mountain – Linville
Blue Ridge Parkway at Mile Marker 305 (15 mi from Blowing Rock NC)
Grandfather Mountain is home to a mile-high swinging bridge (5280 ft elevation), picnic tables, a nature museum and 12 miles of regularly maintained hiking trails ranging from easy nature trails to more difficult backwoods. Park along the Blue Ridge Parkway just prior to the Grandfather Mtn entrance to enjoy free hiking, otherwise pay per person to enter the park, walk the bridge, visit the museum and enjoy its amenities. Grandfather is a MUST visit while in the High Country!
